Personal Injury Compensation

Cogent Law are specialists at handling Personal Injury compensation claims on behalf of clients who have been injured in accidents.

Our approach is to guide you through each step of the legal process involved with making a claim. We help you to understand the law that governs accident compensation, how it is applied and the requirements at each stage of the process.

By following the links to the left of this page we will guide you through from the point of first contact to the settlement of your claim. Your appointed legal advisor or a member of our support team will be on hand at all times to answer any questions you may have and help you make informed decisions on the management of your case.

Our Glossary of terms provide a quick reference guide to any names/phrases that may be unfamiliar to you but are commonly used within the claims process and our set of FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions) provide answers to the type of queries that people typically ask when making a claim.

We work for a number of insurance companies which means that we are on their accredited Panel of solicitors. Therefore if you have been involved in a road traffic accident your insurance company will notify us and we will contact you directly to ascertain the circumstances of the accident and start the necessary paperwork to progress your claim.

If you have not been referred to us by someone such as an insurance company, but wish to use our services or are unsure if you have a valid claim we offer a free, no obligation legal consultation which is designed to review the circumstance of your case. At the end of this session we will provide an
objective view on whether or not you have a good case that may merit compensation.

For your free legal consultation please call 0844 984 5200. Alternatively please complete our online New Claims Enquiry form and a member of our team will call you back to discuss your requirements in more detail.

If you wish to pursue a claim, legal Proceedings must be issued before the third anniversary
of the accident, or by the age of 21 if the injured party is a child under 18. The law allows for this period to be extended in the event that the person making the claim is deemed to be mentally impaired.
